Guys need help.. im so sorry to post this messages...

I have a big problem in Linux Debian.. how can i go start to install Squid Proxy Server 3.0

I already finish download the squid-3.0.STABLE6 and Burned into the CD...

I also install my Linux Debian Mail Server to run the squid-3.0.STABLE6..
Can you help me sir how to install and configure Step by Step... the squid-3.0.STABLE6

Sorry also im newbie in Linux Debian that why need Step By Step :(

Please help me guys...

What exactly do you want Squid to do? It is not a mail server.

What do you mean by "Linux Debian Mail Server", a software package or your computer?

Where did you download squid from? Did you download squid from squid-cache.org? If you did, it is probably a better idea to download and install it with apt using the following command as root:

apt-get install squid
People will be happy to answer your questions but nobody will explain to you step by step how to configure squid. Please look at http://squid-cache.org for documentation.

I agree with this completely. Squid has too many options. You have to learn what they are, then decide for yourself which options apply to you. For example, you want it transparent, or user authentication, and if authentication, which kind? Way too many options, you need to read up.

I suggest you start reading the README files that came with squid:

/usr/share/doc/squid/*

HELLO GUYS!!!

HOW CAN I START SQUID PROXY I DO NOT REALY KNOW WERE TO GET START... I AM ZERO KNOWLEGDE HERE... SORRY IF IM JUST LIKE A LITLE BOY THAT HAVE KNOW ANYTHING REALLY...

I ALREADY INSTALL DEBIAN LINUX 4.0 ALREADY WORKING AND CAN PING OTHER STATION I CAN BROUSE ALSO INTERNET..

THE REASON WHY I POST HERE IS HOW CAN I GET START TO INSTALL SQUID

STEP BY STEP TO DOWNLOAD AND TO EXTRACK FILE HOW TO INSTALL... SORRY IF IM A ZERO KNOWLEDGE HERE...

OR ANY IDEA WHAT THE BETTER OS TO BE USE FOR SQUID
