I don't know why but I find Tuz logo infinitely amusing. That fake beak and the rope crack me up every time. Maybe seeing it in larger size (the image BioTube posted), helps me to appreciate the artwork even more. In fact I would most likely vote Tuz for the new Linux logo, if such a poll was ever to happen.BioTube wrote:Do you mean Tuz?lancelot wrote:At first I thought it was a post against Tux.

As for the negative effect of Psychotux on the community, I don't recall all that many complaints.
But back on topic. I'm afraid I was never really into Psychotux myself, but I don't hate it either. So I'll sleep through this poll.
Q: Why is the Eunux kernel so bloated?
A: It was made in the image of its founder.

Dont bring back the old logo

I can easily block a logotype, the point is that I care about the forum and that logotype didn't add value. In your terms, while it might not scare people away, it might not please them either.

I have to agree.....panas wrote:nice spokenem4r1z wrote:you know design does matter. People and companies care about their image, for many, their brand is their greatest asset.

But I still want the old logo back

As debian is much more than just linux(penguin) I do not think it is appropriate and I sure as hell hate it...
Re: Bring back the penguin!!
Yeah but we are used to him. Some have looked at its crazy expression for years. I've personally clicked on his ugly face so many times - once it almost got stuck onto the pointer, almost.

You mean like a pointer in memory, or your cursor?

In most forums, and even most websites, clicking on the logo will bring you back to the home page.KOTAPAKA wrote:Yes he gets you to the main page of the forum :O. I never used it on here though, I have debian forums on my bookmark bar, so I just clicked it there.

I see no point in having or using this logo, may he/she rest in peace.

Re: Bring back the penguin!!
I personally like the Debian logo better than the Tux logo as the mascot for the forum.
Leave the penguin where it currently resides.

Re: Bring back the penguin!!
Despite this thread's rigged poll, there doesnt appear to me to be any overwhelming desire to bring back the psycho-penguin, but there does appear to be significant desire to leave him in retirement.

Let's correct that.ComputerBob wrote:Despite this thread's rigged poll, there doesnt appear to me to be any overwhelming desire to bring back the psycho-penguin, but there does appear to be significant desire to leave him in retirement.
Bring him back! Bring him back! Bring him back!
Because let’s face it, the unfortunate aspect of software development is that it involves humans. Mewling, disorganized, miserably analog humans. Sometimes they smell bad.
Re: Bring back the penguin!!
Maybe there could be an option in the UCP to enable the penguin.Tadeas wrote:Let's correct that.ComputerBob wrote:Despite this thread's rigged poll, there doesnt appear to me to be any overwhelming desire to bring back the psycho-penguin, but there does appear to be significant desire to leave him in retirement.
Bring him back! Bring him back! Bring him back!
That would make everyone happy
