Laptop Installation option.

#1 Post by blarney »

When I installed Lenny KDE on my Acer laptop I missed ticking the 'Laptop' option. What packages did I miss?

Cheers,

Code: Select all

debian:/home/garion# tasksel --task-packages laptop
wireless-tools
acpi-support
nvclock
cpufrequtils
hibernate
acpi
wpasupplicant
powertop
vbetool
pcmciautils
acpid
apmd
radeontool
toshset
anacron
avahi-autoipd
bluetooth
If you run the aptitude ncurses menu and go to Tasks/End-user/Laptop, you'll see it as well.

You can install the whole "task" via tasksel:

Code: Select all

tasksel install laptop
Because let’s face it, the unfortunate aspect of software development is that it involves humans. Mewling, disorganized, miserably analog humans. Sometimes they smell bad.

You can also use aptitude, where these packages can be found in section Tasks -> End-user -> Laptop...
