I have an interesting problem that hopefully has an interesting (and simple) solution...
On my phpbb2 forum in debian stable, I cannot enable visual confirmation. Every time I select 'yes,' it sets itself back at 'no.'
Any ideas?

Solution!
Problem solved... just in case you are experiencing something similar... here is what I had to do:
1 - Read http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=329
2 - Cut and paste the php code into your /usr/share/phpbb2/site/ folder and run it from a browser
3 - Follow the directions and uncomment the appropriate fix.
4 - Delete the template_check.php file.
