QLA2XXX driver on Debian, Abort command issued (SOLVED)

#1 Post by marcink8563 »

We are having problems using our QMH2462 4Gb Fibre Channel HBA on Debian Lenny 64bit with latest binary kernel image (2.6.26) and official, stable qla2xxx driver module (qla2xxx.ko: 8.02.01-k4, firmware: 4.04.00 and other 4.04.XX builds available at ftp.qlogic.com).

Code: Select all

# uname -a
Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 19 22:33:18 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Basically the problem is that accessing hardware, e.g. using 'fdisk -l', hangs process for about 1-2 minutes while probing QMH2462 devices.
At the same time syslog is filled with "Abort command issued" entries.

Code: Select all

# dmesg | grep qla2x

(qla2xxx module has been loaded with qla2xmaxqdepth=4 and extended_error_logging=1 parameters)

Does anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance

It looks like problem was caused by failing hardware.
HP engeneers performed test and as a result some components have been replaced.
No problems afterwards.

Thread can be marked as solved.
