ipw2200 stopped working after package update

#1 Post by heikole »

Recently, I performed a package update using aptitude on a Dell Latitude D610 notebook. Before that I hadn't updated for several weeks, so many packages were affected.

Unfortunately, ipw2200 has stopped working after this large update. The WLAN router cannot be connected anymore, and I don't know why. To be sure not to have missed anything, I followed the instructions of http://wiki.debian.org/ipw2200#Lenny.2CSqueeze to no avail.

Here's what I get:

Code: Select all

Re: ipw2200 stopped working after package update

#2 Post by heikole »

I've tried Ubuntu 9.10 on the same notebook, and wireless is working like a charm. I suspect wpasupplicant to be the source of the problem with my updated Debian/Squeeze..
wpasupplicant 0.6.10 is installed in Squeeze now, while Ubuntu comes with wpasupplicant 0.6.9. How would I downgrade wpasupplicant to 0.6.9 in Squeeze?

All I can tell you is that I'm using the same driver, in squeeze, and it's working fine. Wireless is configured via wicd in my case (not manually).
