[Release] Debian Planet Wallpaper

#1 Post by kcin »

Just messed around and came up with this tonight. The Debian logo is subtle in a form of a cosmic dust cloud swirling around the planet.
Let me know what you think.

Preview:

Download:
2560x1600

1600x1200

Resize for other resolutions with an image program like gimp.

EDIT: Reuploaded to omuploader.org seeing as imgur.com changes my large png uploads into jpegs and reduces quality. If you downloaded earlier, you might want to redownload the wallpaper because it's a higher quality png now.

why did you name it Debian Planet Wallpaper? Edit: I was wondering if you were thinking of planet.debian.org (because I was)
are there any future plans for the wallpaper? Edit I hope so, it's a nice theme base
does your wallpaper have a source? Edit note to self: reread posts before commenting, not just look at purdy pictures....

tia.... Edit: less confused than when I made my original posted
In memory of Ian Ashley Murdock (1973 - 2015) founder of the Debian project.

Because it was a simple name, had nothing to do with planet.debian.org
are there any future plans for the wallpaper?
Probably not for this wallpaper, but I might create more wallpapers and maybe a theme.

I used this rock texture as a base for the planet, I then manipulated it beyond recognition. Everything else was made in photoshop. The Debian logo was used for the cosmic dust cloud.

I've been using photoshop for over a decade and I can't get used to GIMP no matter how many times I try.
