Also checkout Debian reference. It is available as a package debian-reference , or from http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals#quick-reference .

I've printed it yesterday and made myself a small A5 book. It has already been helpfull several times.

Ooooops, again I forget to login before posting

Another book that will be available during Summer 2005 :

Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 Bible

Code: Select all

# Paperback: 672 pages
# Publisher: Wiley; CD-Rom edition (August 1, 2005)
# Language: English
# ISBN: 0764576445
Comprehensive, beginning-to-advanced coverage of Debian GNU/Linux, which boasts an estimated installed base of 1.75 million servers and a year-to-year growth rate of 25 percent
Debian GNU/Linux is free, supported by HP, and is often cited as the most stable and reliable Linux distribution-which makes it a great alternative for users put off by Red Hat's pricey Enterprise Linux and unsupported Fedora
Written by an active and widely recognized member of the Debian community and featuring a foreword by the Debian Project Leader
Features the basic distribution on one CD-ROM as well as a mini disk that allows users to explore Debian GNU/Linux without actually installing it

Cheers, Moonlight

The 'Concepts and Techniques' book is great. It arrived by snail mail this morning. Beautiful book, hardcover. Contents are great.

When I search the details of this book in amazon, why the book cover is not the same as the one you posted here?? is it because of different versions???

Hello,

Hereafter you will find an extract from the faq list copied from http://debiansystem.info/faqs

What is the difference between the two versions published by Open Source Press and No Starch Press?

The primary difference is that the version released by No Starch Press will be available worldwide, while Open Source Press only distributes the book in central Europe. As the No Starch version went into print two months after the publication of the original Open Source Press version, we took the opportunity to fold all the errata which had accumulated by then into the printing.

Conclusion, both books are the same (but have a different front panel) and the book released by No Starch Press will have some of the errata fixed since printing started 2 months later.

Hopes this makes things more clear.

By the way, the book is great !

Cheers, Moonlight
