Nvidia 290.xx don't detect laptop display

#1 Post by microcris »

Hi there :)

I have an Asus G1 laptop and until now I was running debian amd64 unstable/experimental on it without problems.

Since the nvidia driver 290.xx came out it never detected my laptop internal display.
I think I have made everything I could made to fix the problem but until now I can only use the computer if I connect an external display or kill the gdm3 and use the computer in real console mode.

I know I can use a stable/older driver but the point is; the 290.10 driver is not experimental anymore and should work on my computer.

If any one could help with this it would be very good.

my system:
Asus G1
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G73 [GeForce Go 7700] (rev a1)
Debian unstable/experimental
Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP

the error:
