Ok, so I have Debian installed on my laptop, and Fedora 6 on my desktop. I am just wondering, why is some of Debian unstable Gnome version 2.14 while others is 2.16, I would think Unstable gets updated fairly often. The Fedora has all 2.16...
However Fedora will not set my DPI according to whats in my xorg.conf file, its setting it somewhere else that I can't find
debian values portability (does any other linux distro have official stable releases for ten architectures?) and quality over having the latest versions of everything.
Thats what I was thinking, so Debian is more useful for severs and that kind of thing, but if you want a bleeding edge desktop, might as well go with something like Fedora or Ubuntu.
