i use debian sid, 64 bit. when system is booting, i can see bunch of info: starting daemons, maybe some errors and so.. [at tty1]
anyway at the point when gdm starts, this info is replaced with login dialog
is there way how can I make it not to clean tty1 and show login dialog? I wanna see what kind of errors i had, what daemons and so on...

Install bootlogd
Enable it in /etc/default/bootlogd
After next boot, check your /var/log/boot...
Also try dmesg.

bootlogd did log the messages ;]
anyway, I remember few years ago, when I went to tty1 right after boot [or anytime] I was able to see those boot messages.
right now, it's only login dialog. i guess it has to be some line in config somewhere. maybe someone knows?
