it would be cool for the forum to display a poster's OS and browser info (like in fedora forums):

LQ does that as well but I am not so sure it is an added value here. I have seen such info inspire many flamewars.Serving the community the best way I can.

It does not bother me, but the truly "cynical" might consider displaying such information a violation of privacy.

That is what I was thinking. Why do they care. Perhaps you don't have net at home and use library. Endless possibilities and it doesn't matter to begin with.
