how to use one i386 and amd64 kernel?

i'm using the amd64 linux kernel debian etch. but it not support many software. So, i like to install i386 linux kernel in it, may i do it?

Did you install Debian AMD64? If so, most software such as plugins and codecs don't work with it. Some do but alot doesn't.

To have most all software working with Debian you may need to install Debian i386 version and not x86_64 version(amd64).
