/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ - what if you just remove the file in that directory?

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try it at home in the evening and reply.

I tried the fix suggested and got rm: cannot remove /var/lib/apt/list/partial/* No such file or directory

I'm using Jessie release. Any help would be appreciated.

Show the code, exactly how you wrote the 'rm' command and use 'code boxes'
for it.
You probably did not use "su" or "sudo", you would need to be "root" or have root privileges to remove that file.

example:

Code: Select all

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/*
Also this is a really old thread, and the solution was for Debian Wheezy, it may not apply
to Debian Jessie.

Try /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/*
You missed an 's'.

From my experience these "Hash Sum mismatch" errors can be 95% avoided by using https to reduce the possibility of ISP caching. Of course, you have to choose a mirror that supports https.
