Netflix on Debian Wheezy

Hi all,
I'm having a hard time trying to watch Netflix on my Debian Wheezy. I've tried using iceweasel, the latest firefox and google chrome (also chromium) without success.
I've been searching and some the solutions offered seemed contradictory or not very well accepted by other users.

To be especific, it seems that libnss 3.17 is required to watch netflix on Chrome but installing /upgrading libnss3 (as pointed out by some users)
is not the right way of solving the problem, leading to potential issues in the future.

I've tried using backports tu upgrade libnss3 but I still have the 'newest version'

So my questions is: Is there a way of watchign Netflix without doing a dist-upgrade ?
Will this render my system unstable? I have a bunch of programs which I use at work and doing a fresh install is the last thing I have in mind

In Wheezy, to use Silverlight with wine-staging and either pipelight or netflix-desktop, you'll have to add the wine-staging Wheezy-compatible repository, then either use the Windows Firefox or pipelight in Linux Mozilla-type browser.

Google Chrome need a backported libnss3 and even more fraught with trouble: a newer libc6. We have a backported libc6 in the MEPIS experimental repo that has proved safe, as far as I know, that seems to be the only safe method that anyone has shown working.

Chromium lacks the widevine plugin for DRM, so can't use Netflix.

Again, you will have to add outside repositories for Wheezy. Wine-staging or the MEPIS CR for the Wine method, or the MEPIS CR for the backports to let Chrome work.

I'll check your suggestions using MEPIS (with either Wine or Chrome). I'm a bit dissapointed that there is no native support, but I think that's because of how Netflix or other services implement their applications.

Yes, MX 14 (the eerie result of the union of MEPIS and AntiX) draws from the MEPIS CR for its Wine (a rebuild of wine-staging) and netflix-desktop, and it ended up being dead simple. We have stable versions in the main MEPIS CR, and builds of the latest releases in the testing CR.

Yes, but the thread concerns Wheezy, and maybe you did not see that it needs a newer libc6?

Playonlinux is also now providing builds of wine-staging, which includes the patches which allow Wine to play Netflix content via Silverlight. I did not see any options to get Netflix running just by installing "Netflix", but maybe an update to playonlinux would provide that.
