[SOLVED] Realtek RTS5249 CardReader Driver

Postby cytisine » 2015-09-27 12:32

Hello,

I got a new laptop and I install Debian Jessie, but the SD Card reader is not working at all.
When I list the devices with lspci it list the device:

07:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTS5249 PCI Express Card Reader (rev 01)

But it doesn't work. I snoop around in the net and I found that the kernel is supporting the card reader but it is not included.
The source file is in
drivers/mfd/rts5249.c

How can I compile and install it, so I can start up the device?

Thanks in advance.

I've solved it.

I add rtsx_usb to /etc/modules and it started the device.

Hello my name is Jamice Welbon. I and a lot of other people have this card reader on our hackintosh computers and it is one of the last things that need to be fix so our computers can be 100% compatible to work with the Mac OS X. Apple does not use this card reader on their laptops and I have search the internet far and wide to find the drivers for this device with no avail. Do you think you can create working drivers for this card reader and in return and can send people to your website to get the working drivers? Thank you for your time. I am currently using Mac OS X 10.11.5.
