AGREED & DISAGREED OPTIONS
AGREED & DISAGREED OPTIONS
Dear Debian User Forum Incharge
Kindly add option to "agree" or "disagree" with a smilie to a post, just like LIKES in facebook. I hope that is not a registered issue, and can be a part of GPL/FOSS.
Thankyou.

Re: AGREED & DISAGREED OPTIONS
There also is options, if you really have a topic that is that important, and need to keep count of how many, "agree", or "disagree", or "yes" or "No" .. click will be more amusing, ... with counts ofcourse.
It is called "polling" . When a "poll" and call for votes is set up, it keeps count of the votes.
How do I create a poll?
Before suggesting changes, maybe it would be better to look at these,
FAQ
And see if the options you need are not all ready available.
Please keep in mind though:
The use of polls, is for topics that are serious and there is a genuine need to see how many people agree or not, or say yes or no. It is not for your "amusement", or entertainment.click will be more amusing
Like wise, all though a little "humor" is all ways fine, helps break the "boreing" routines, etc,..the basic intention of the forum, is serious, technical , for users needing help with technical problems related to Debian, and discussion about the development of Debian, etc.
If you are looking for a "playground", or social site , like Face Book, for your "amusement", then face book , is the place for that. Or some searches, will show you there are plenty of them.
Romper Room, and other social sites for kids to play

Why would we want to be more like Facebook? Apart from the odd trolls, people on forums like this aren't afflicted by the same need for acceptance that is common on FB.

Re: AGREED & DISAGREED OPTIONS
If we do that which you're suggesting, then this forum will become like all the rest - battleground for biased opinions. Note that this is not a comment section of some news site. Although most major news sites in the West have banned this feature, AFAIK.
And, if we allow ''ups'' and ''downs'', we would invite armies of trolls who are already spiteful towards this community.

Re: AGREED & DISAGREED OPTIONS
Nah, It could have some advantage also. If users saw that a advice or solution was rated with "-16", they probably wouldn't try it. The bad thing is that I would off course vote down all kinds of "Don't break Debian" stuff, so it works both ways
