I'm running sidux so after much thought, I named my box sidux.

I did try to think of other names but I really like the way sidux sounds. If it ain't broke and all that...

Interesting...

Mine is called betelsgeuse.

I made a mistake in misspelling it, it should be Betelgeuse. As many of you know it is one of the brightest star in the night sky in the Orion constellation. AFAIK, it is a red super-giant and it is one of the largest stars ever observed - it is as big as our solar system.

Merlin: Debian Etch
Indy: Debian Sarge
G3: Mac
7200: Mac
lc: Mac

Only one machine has a unique name. The others are all named for what they are. i.e. the SGI Indy is called Indy... the Macintosh LC III is called lc... Etcetera. And yes, before anyone notices, I have a thing for old computers... It's called an empty wallet. But that's about to change. 8)

washingtown was the name of a server sharing files and connection in the local network of a flat I shared with friends. Its name came from the common error french people did while writing our address (in France, Washington was the name of the street).

Cutie - My development PC.. I chose "Cutie" as its hostname because "Cutie" is spelled the same way as QT.. And I use QT in most of my projects :P
Raxor - My new bleeding edge PC.. All the newest packages and kernels are tested on my "Raxor" machine before they are supplied to the FLG (Finnish Linux Group) :o
Musiqa - My PC for free-time usage.. Just for browsing the web or playing games, this one is for my personal activities :)

hello everyone!
this is my first post and i figured something as important as the name of my laptop is a great beginning 8)
it is named archie because i read some cool books about a time-machine when i was a wee kid and the super-dooper-computer that was controlling the time-machine was named the same. it had a personality of its own and usually got the mad scientist who had invented it into big trouble somewhere in the past.
if i ever start using more than one computer i shall post the new names :D
so long
