Bluetooth Driver on Asus G56JK

#1 Post by JotaMeramont »

Hi! I'm really new over here, actually I'm from Peru, and I have a little bit trouble with my Bluetooth driver on my laptop Asus G56JK, I never needded to use it but now I do.
I already have about 2 hours reading about this issue but can't find the solution, specially cause in my country debian its not a common OS, so... I had to come here.
I read that bluetooth is a combo on my laptop model, a combo with the wifi card, or something like that, well i happends that my wifi works ok, not perfect because there's not a manager wireless conections but works anyway.
And bluetooth looks like no conected, no software can detected it, is like my laptop doesn't have it, but asus web says yes it has! I already has Bluedevil but nothing happends, says "bluetooth is off" I try to turn on but nothing happends.
So, can anybody help me please? I can't find the right driver for my Wifi BT 4.0 combo card

i suspect that you are either missing firmware needed, or have some version that is wrong for that kernel. you are on jessie, and have latest kernel of 3.16 series? can you show

Code: Select all

ls /lib/firmware/ar3k
maybe you don't have firmware-atheros at all?

On /lib/firmware/ there's only 1 folder named "hp"

Code: Select all

/lib/firmware$ ls
hp

there's not such a folder or file named ar3k... whats next???
