GNOME MPV
GNOME MPV is a simple GTK+ frontend for mpv. GNOME MPV interacts with mpv via the client API exported by libmpv, allowing access to mpv's powerful playback capabilities.

And the SMPlayer front end for MPV makes gnome-mpv look like Totem!
Not to mention we can have SMPlayer on a Jessie base, but not gnome-mpv (unless someone comes up with an appimage or the like)
QMPlay2 is a very efficient and small media player--I have Jessie versions in my multimedia OBS repository, though the Windows version also runs under Wine. :)

I have to argue with including Windows apps running under Wine in a thread called "List of your linux Apps". There should be a separate thread for those--by no stretch of the imagination are they "Linux Apps."

I've switched from zsh to a Linux port of OpenBSD's Korn shell, it feels like moving to a monastery after the lurid opulence of the z shell and it's lovely globbing...

Shells are "Apps" too, right?

Has anybody tried Powershell?

I would recommend using flatpak (there is a Debian jessie repository available) and installing Epiphany from that instead.

This will give you the very latest development version of Epiphany that is updated every day :)

I don't see what use this app is, I don't use KDE, and don't use Android,
but any way, there are a lot of others that do,
thanks for sharing.

I did find some interesting comments about the website
that hosts these. It appears safe enough, but these comments
are interesting.
Comment
They are sponsored by big companies to promote products through misleading articles.
The article "If You Don’t Upgrade to Windows 10, This Will Happen" from Ben Stegner, 13th of July is a good example.
and , this one is really funny,....
comment-75398425
While the site is tame, it has the possibility to negatively influence a child in the realm of computers. While the site is benign, young minds might try to take advantage of the potentially destructive element mentioned.
And for any body new to Debian, these "wonderfull apps",
as nice as they may sound can and sometimes do cause
a lot of problems on your Debian system. You should
read this, and do some good research BEFORE, downloading
and installing things that do not come from the Debian repos.
