LOL, well what do you expect from telstra???
they block most ip addresses in australia. As in they block the IP from reaching your router, if you go to remote ping and do a traceroute back to your address it will NEVER get there!! it stops about 2 hops from your address.
i have had the same problem for over 3 years, they also dont allow IPv6 over thier network they also block 6in4 tunnels so any hope of using IPv6 to bypass thier blocks is a waste of time.

I see that Telstra has changed things,
I can FINALLY make my website available, I tested nginx, with a basic install and minimal setup, it works first time with NO PROBLEMS at all. even tested from remote and it connects with no problems at all from anywhere in the world.
thanks to dotcom-tools with most responses under a second.
still no IPv6 access though, which sucks badly.
