iceweasel crashes while running my imacro script

#1 Post by Viturna »

Hi , can someone tell me what can be the reason for frequent crashing of iceweasel on my linux debian VPS.

I run imacro java script on 2 VPS with iceweasel updated version.
1st VPS config : 3 GB RAM + 50GB SSD + 4 core processor.

on this VPS . iceweasel run longer but still sometime crashes after a long repetitive run of imacro javascript.
2nd VPS config : 1 GB RAM + 20GB SSD + 1 core processor .

on this second device . iceweasel does not stand longer with script running and it crashed everytime saying " unresponsive script " .
Here is the screenshot of the logs on the terminal.

Reason showing " Out of memory"

My question : what should I do to run the iceweasel smoothly without this " out of memory " thing.

1- is it because I have 1 GB RAM ?
2- what is the minimum RAM requirement to run imacro script on iceweasel ?
3- I have also a 500MB RAM vps . and same thing happen when just I run the script . so I bought another VPS of 1GB assuming the problem may be the RAM capacity.
4- what are things should I should upgrade ?

Please help me.

What version of Debian is it ?
Iceweasle, has been discontinued for some time now, replaced with
firefox-esr.

You need to do some research, and searches, and update your system.
Since this is not a package that would be found in the Debian
repositories, you really should ask them at their website.
from: http://wiki.imacros.net/LinuxPrerequisites

In the following we assume that you have

installed the iMacros for Firefox plugin
downloaded and extracted the iMacros for Linux Scripting Interface to some folder we'll call /home/name/iMacrosLinux, here
created a minimal sample script /home/name/iMacrosLinux/minimal.py:

I use debian8 jessie minimal . then install OPENBOX windows manager on it and through apt-get I install iceweasel Browser. after the browser installation I use firefox site to download supported imacro add on . this add-on creates a folder in the root directory called "imacros" which have some demo scripting files also and all user script files goes into this folder.

Well, since I wasn't familiar with imacros.net, I had a look at the site. http://wiki.imacros.net/Linux

At the very top of the page I found this
Note: As of 2013/1/1 we no longer support or update the Linux version of the Scripting Interface
That might be an indication that those macros won't run on Jessie and that might be what you are experiencing. It seems they were written for Squeeze and other distros of that era. And also from that page, it seems they were only for i386, no 64 bit support.
