That's because those discs aren't installable. They only contain programs.

Not bloody likely. Click the link below, click on the very first hit, and you'll get exactly the same answer I just gave you:
https://classic.startpage.com//do/searc ... vd2+debian

If you're asking/answering a related but not identical question (how to use an .iso image as a repository),
well that same first page of search results points you to the answer for that question too:
https://fixmynix.com/how-to-use-an-iso- ... in-debian/

See also this existing thread right here at FDN: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php? ... 03#p531802

Next time, try doing the search.

"Doesn't work" is not diagnostically useful.

If actually want help, you'll need to provide specific details on exactly what you're attempting (for example, the commands you're using, etc.) along with exact verbatim text of error messages you receive. Without that information, no one can help you.

You may try the --cdrom option to set the CD-ROM mount point.

For the second time, you can't do that. Only DVD1 is installable.

Suggested steps:

1) Read what I have already pointed you to and see if it helps clarify your question in your own mind

2) Come up with a consistent story about the goal you're trying to achieve.

3) Post that here and then wait for someone with vastly more patience than myself to try to help you.

DVD 2 and 3 are not installable as it has been repeated to you many times. The DVD's are there for offline installation of software.

If you have burned the iso to a DVD, you will need to use apt-cdrom to assist you in adding the source for the DVD.

If you have just downloaded the iso, you will need to mount the iso and then point your sources to the mounted area.

You can then install the software from those DVDs.
