Debian Jessie doesn't detect an external monitor.

#1 Post by OmegaPi »

Good Morning all,
First sorry for my english it's not my native language^^
I just installed a fresh debian on my MSI GS60, I have an Intel HD5500 graphic card and a GT 950M nvidia graphic card. I'm using bumblebee, and it works.
However if bumblebee works, in settings -> Dislpay -> it's written unknown, first it wasn't a big deal because i had a good resolution and bumblebee is working, but now that i want to use a monitor, it's starting to be annoying because i can't select it.
Any idea of the issue ?
Thanks.

Hi OmegaPi,

I had a like your issue that I could fix replacing my VGA connector by a HDMI connector. You don't say which is the port you're using, so maybe you want to try changing the port connection.
