SOLVED: Multiseat with lightdm

#1 Post by fresneda »

Hi, I have been having trouble configuring multiseat on a machine running debian 8.8 and lightdm 1.10.3-3.

So far I have configured X:
https://pastebin.com/6tEBr11x
And lightdm
https://pastebin.com/NmTU3Atc

However, my second monitor (Monitor1) is not getting any signal. Layout0 on Monitor0 is working as expected.
Here is the output of Xorg.1.log :

Re: Multiseat with lightdm

#2 Post by fresneda »

I managed to make it work doing the following:

1)I ran Xorg -configure to generate a new xorg.conf
2)I changed the drivers from to radeon to fglrx
3)startx as root gives me a multihead system, with each monitor connected to a different card
4)I edited the xorg.conf file so as to define two seats.

Here is the new xorg.conf file:
https://pastebin.com/xfDy8vrD

post-edit: I got the opensource driver radeon to work after I listed it in /etc/modules ;
otherwise I got the strange "drm report modesetting isn't supported"
