Wow. Really?
Re: Wow. Really?
Wholeheartedly agreed.

Keeping this thread alive is a less-than-ideal alternative, but hey, it's something.

Re: Wow. Really?
As a Slacker that also likes Debian I also think this announcement should be pinned, stuck/stick whatever. Did the OP get thrashed?

Quaint. Nice to see some retro being kept alive. What with the Nokia 3310 and Beckham's Mullett hairstyle seems like 2017 is becoming a year of retro.
Re: Wow. Really?
Agreed. A few days pinning wouldn't do any harm, right?
That is, I assume that the first Ubuntu release got the same attention and approval and pinning time on this forum.

What would be even better is to put a link to it in your forum signature.fsmithred wrote:Can you at least pin it for a few days before letting it sink into oblivion?

Re: Wow. Really?
I was going to comment that I didn't think it would sink into "oblivion" all that fast,
There really are not that many new topics started here.
Wow, Yes, Really it did, and thank you.

But any way, I notice it got stickied, or "pinned".fsmithred wrote:

Re: Wow. Really?
I usually read the forum by clicking on the "view unread posts" so pinning doesn't help me, but I'm not complaining. I read it earlier
I was going to download it, but saw that it's 17gigs via torrent. I think I'm going to see what I can find on the mirrors.

Re: Wow. Really?
I think there is an option to only download what you need from the torrent. But a mirror works too . . .No_windows wrote:I was going to download it, but saw that it's 17gigs via torrent. I think I'm going to see what I can find on the mirrors.

Yeah, most Torrent programmes will just automatically start every magnet link or torrent file without previously showing you what's in it.

Here's a list of torrent clients enabling "selective downloads".deborah-and-ian wrote:Yeah, most Torrent programmes will just automatically start every magnet link or torrent file without previously showing you what's in it.
Re: Wow. Really?
No you're not. Basic mirror requires @20 gb. Have you never visited the available options?dasein wrote:I must be reading wrong.... 17GB???

Re: Wow. Really?
Yes, 17gb...... I'm thinking that must have been everything. I ended up downloading the netinstall directly from one of the mirrors, instead.dasein wrote:I must be reading wrong.... 17GB???
Re: Wow. Really?
The 17GB includes all the different architectures. The AMD64 Live is less than < 900MB.
