Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
My apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade script is waiting xD
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
Be sure to run it without X. And don't forget to check the release notes.silvaf6 wrote:My apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade script is waiting xD
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
This is my "sources.list":
I run "sudo apt-get upgrade" and "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" and there are no new packages.
I was already on stretch, so, does that mean there is nothing new to update? Or am i doing something wrong?
Do I need to do a fresh install?
Code: Select all
deb http://ftp.pt.debian.org/debian/ stretch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.pt.debian.org/debian/ stretch main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/debian-security stretch/updates main contrib non-free

Are you sure you upgraded to the stable version? Because there was already a Stretchmarcetm wrote:Upgraded!!! All was right like always before

Absolutely, I changed my sources.list from jessie to stretch, I couldn't wait no more.silvaf6 wrote:Are you sure you upgraded to the stable version? Because there was already a Stretch
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
I guess it wasn't released today then, because there is nothing new.
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
I thought it had to do with the mirror I had set in my sources.list so I forced it.
Re: Planned release of stretch on 2017-06-17
You did right (I think), but I already had "stretch" in my sources.list for about a week and today there was nothing new to upgrade...marcetm wrote:I thought it had to do with the mirror I had set in my sources.list so I forced it.

I don't think you need to upgrade nothing as you are already in stretch...silvaf6 wrote:You did right (I think), but I already had "stretch" in my sources.list for about a week and today there was nothing new to upgrade...

I guess, but i was expecting loads of package updatesmarcetm wrote:I don't think you need to upgrade nothing as you are already in stretch...silvaf6 wrote:You did right (I think), but I already had "stretch" in my sources.list for about a week and today there was nothing new to upgrade...
Hamm... I say "upgrade" and "update" as being the same thing. Since you have to do apt-get upgrade to update...

Seems like it... but still nothing from "apt-get upgrade". After a 4 months freeze there should be bug fixes, no ? I'm confused.vmclark wrote:I think its released. What do you make of these ISO's ?

I'm not sure what those ISO's are. For one thing, if you look at the log files on the link I listed, you will see that firefox is still 45.9.0:
"firefox-esr-l10n-lt (45.9.0esr-1) ..."
I would thing after a couple of years they would upgrade firefox....I can wait for the official announcement.

Almost none of this thread is any kind of News or Announcement,
it is just speculating , and general discussion,..
There is nothing yet about it (Debian 9 )being released, all though it is in
process.

Stretch is coming on 2017-06-17
The Debian Release Team in coordination with several other teams are preparing the last bits needed for releasing Debian 9 Stretch. Please, be patient! Lots of steps are involved and some of them take some time, such as building the images, propagating the release through the mirror network, and rebuilding the Debian website so that "stable" points to Debian 9.
a announcement will be made, saying something like " Debian 9 released "...
