Hi,
I am attempting to upgrade debian8 to debian9 and when it does generating grub config, finds images and then seems to hang. the machine is still responsive, I can alt-F2 and login OK.

debian 8 32bit to debian 9 32bit upgrade failure
Re: debian 8 32bit to debian 9 32bit upgrade failure
So I type reboot in terminal 2 and it reboots OK. I have to type dpkg --configure -a to finish off (as it tells me to when I try to run apt-get -y dist-upgrade) and reboot to see if it does.
The reboot seems to go OK.
So I am left to do an apt-get -y dist-upgrade.
During the upgrade I seem to get a seg fault.

So I do a apt-get -y dist-upgrade and t hangs a the same point as before, reboot comes up Ok except it never gives me a login.
I have to run the same command to clean up.
have a missed something?

Re: debian 8 32bit to debian 9 32bit upgrade failure
PS I seem to have no network eth0 after the last reboot.
--fixed-- the network is now ens160 and not eth0, so I had to edit interfaces.

well this failed badly, system would boot but no login was possible.
