Debian can't detect Second Monitor

Postby cleito.junior » 2017-08-23 16:40

He everyone!

I've installed Debian 8.9 in a Desktop With Xfce4 and it can't detect My second Monitor.

There a output of a xrandr:
Code: Select all
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 2960 x 1116, maximum 32767 x 32767
VGA1 connected 1360x768+1600+348 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 194mm
   1360x768      60.02*+
   1024x768      75.08    70.07    60.00
   832x624       74.55
   800x600       72.19    75.00    60.32    56.25
   640x480       75.00    72.81    66.67    60.00
   720x400       70.08

lspci's Output:
Code: Select all
ccj@ccj-dsk01:~$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G84 [GeForce 8600 GT] (rev a1)

That NVIDIA is my second monitor, I'am using Xubuntu in the same hardware (dual boot), and it recognizes my Displays correctly (Inclusive in Xrandr, thet show a New DVI Output as Connected), this Debian will be a new installation but it doens't work. I'm using Kernel 4.9, installed via Jessie Backports Repository.

How can I do to Troubleshoot and Resolve this issue?

Thank You Very Much,

Xfce 4.10 does not support more than one monitor. Xfce 4.12 does.

Great, in My another desktop Xubuntu, i'm running Xfce 4.12 version... I'll check debian installation and comment the result.

Great Ardouos! Thank You very Much. :D

I've updated xfce and now i can see desktop in my 2 monitors.

But:

- When go to "All Setting" > "Display" I received a error message "Unable to Start XFCE display Settings".
- When I run a arandr, I only can see the active display, to see the other one i have to run arand in another display. This way I can not adjust both screens correctly. I Would Like to Work with 2 displays in extended mode.

What Can I Do?

How did you update to 4.12? The most ideal way is to upgrade to Debian 9.

Yes I Did It.

But in this moment I just want to Open the Display Settings to view the 2 monitors and adjust the screens, It was working individually.
