Good Morning!
I recently bought a Lenovo Notebook, Model Ideapad 320.
When trying to install Ubuntu 16.04, I came across a problem with the touchpad, the mouse pointer did not even appear.
In some distributions the mouse pointer appeared but did not move, in other distributions (tested distributions in Live Cd: Debian, Fedora, OpenSuse).
In this I even removed Windows because the notebook is new I was afraid to remove and then unable to solve the problem in some Linux distribution.
The driver responsible for the touchpad would be Elan Smart Pad - corresponding match in some distribution?
Could you install Synaptics on linux? Would it be a problem because it was Elan and not Synaptics?
In the debian site I found the following:
The question is: if it has been supported in the Kernel since version 2.6 what happened that did not recognize?Determining the type of Touchpad
The following command will tell you whether you have a Synaptics, ALPS or Elantech touchpad:
egrep -i 'synap|alps|etps|elan' /proc/bus/input/devices
(Elantech support was enabled in Linux kernel 2.6.32-4.)
https://wiki.debian.org/SynapticsTouchpad
Would that be the solution?
Because I do not want to risk and keep the touchpad unusable, I will only install some Gnu / Linux distribution with certainty that I will solve the problem.
The Port on Windows 10 states how I2C did not have to be PS / 2?
Waiting for answers, I'm really annoyed to have to stay on Windows rs
Searching I encountered the same problem:

This seems to have been solved, but I did not understand. If possible could anyone explain?

Already in this the problem has not yet been solved, but it is the same, perhaps the solution of the first serves in all.
