Qupzilla keep restoring deleted search engines
Qupzilla keep restoring deleted search engines
I keep removing the search engines that comes pre-installed with Qupzilla except Google and every time I restart, they're back. Qupzilla remembers my tabs and my settings for Netscape plugins, JavaScript and Java so why not my search engine preferences?

What version of Qupzilla are you using?

Yeah, but you can only run 2.1.2 on a Jessie base like antiX 16 from a big fat 64-bit AppImage, and I think that thin terminal is 32-bit only. Stretch-based AntiX 17 can run a natively backported 2.1.2 from the MX 17 repos, I've already built it, and antiX 17 is at the first release candidate stage, so is close to being ready.

Re: Qupzilla keep restoring deleted search engines
The version is 1.8.9. I used the package manager to download it a couple of days ago so I thought it would be the most-up-to-date version but I guess it's not compatible with antiX 16. Is there nothing I can do about it until antX 17 is available? I might just have to live it.

Re: Qupzilla keep restoring deleted search engines
Qupzilla 2.X switched to Qtwebengine as the backend, and there's really no easy way to get that into Jessie. Only the self-contained AppImage for Jessie. Even Stretch and Buster currently only have 1.8.9--I had to backport the 2.1.2 Sid sources on a Stretch base for the upcoming MX 17 repos. I don't know how close to final the current antiX 17 first rc1 is, but you could look at their forums to see how people are liking it.
