USB devices on Debian 9

#1 Post by uthappam »

On my recent installation of Debian 9.10 I had grown used to USB devices showing on the screen when plugged in -- but they no longer do that.

A pen drive with audio files on it shows up, as does another which is at present empty. A third pen drive, which has on it a bootable copy of another Linux, does not show up. My mobile phone, which used to be visible when connected, can no longer be seen. The pmount package is installed but hal and usbmount are not in the repositories.
