Reserve IP issue

#1 Post by tdiguy »

Greetings,
I have a weird problem. I am using my debian system as an emby server and I normally use reserved ip addresses as "static" addresses. I looked up my machines mac address on the router. I added the mac address on the router to set the reserved ip address. However even after rebooting the system it is still using its older dynamic ip address. I then rebooted the router and the debian machine, it still has the old dhcp address.
I am not used to having this much issue getting a device to take a reserve ip. Is there something else i should do?

OK at long last i found the issue. I had to delete the old reserved mac lease, reboot the router and reboot the server.
