Mustek BearPaw 2448 TA Scanner Problem

#1 Post by mef »

Hi, I have a problem with a Mustek BearPaw 2448 TA scanner on Debian Stretch. It gives me "*** stack smashing detected ***: scanimage terminated", when I try to scan a document.
It just won't work neither in GUI mode, nor from the command line.

Code: Select all

lsusb
Bus 001 Device 009: ID 055f:0409 Mustek Systems, Inc. BearPaw 2448 TA Pro

Code: Select all

# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected.

Code: Select all

scanimage -L

Code: Select all

scanimage > image.pnm

Maybe there's the problem, but I don't know how to fix it.

I've never configured a scanner in Linux before, and I'm quite new to Linux itself, so any help would be appreciated.

If that helps:

Code: Select all

uname -a
Linux usr1 4.9.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.51-1 (2017-09-28) x86_64 GNU/Linux

I resolve problem via downgrade package libsane and libsane-common to "oldstable" version:

Code: Select all

                 (Stable)    ->     (Old Stable)
libsane        (1.0.25-4.1)  ->  (1.0.24-8+deb8u2)
libsane-common (1.0.25-4.1)  -> (1.0.24-8+deb8u2)
