I make it a habit to only post or participate in forums only if I am capable of expressing myself lucidly and concisely ...out of consideration for the other users of the forum(s).debiman wrote:a combination of painkillers & strong alcohol, both administered liberally, should do the trick!elton-w wrote:Having difficulty concentrating while being being plagued with severe toothache pain .

First, I agree to the TOS, and then download the 64-bit DEB package from HERE:sunrat wrote:The normal way to install Chrome is to download the .deb from Google's download page and install it with dpkg -i or gdebi. The installation creates a file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list with the correct repo. We are all wondering how you managed to get the incorrect entry in the wrong sources file.

I forgot to mention that I am not skilled using the nano editor.stevepusser wrote:You must still remove line #19 from your /etc/apt/sources.list file. It is incorrect and causing the error, as has been clearly stated several times already. You can use Synaptic if installed to manage your repositories from a GUI.
It is possible to disable a line by commenting it out, but since you are going to have a working line in another file, remove it altogether.

I noticed that. There is some crucial information missing here, such as OP installed the missing dependency before the second try, as advised.debiman wrote:sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
interestingly, the exact same command has been used twice - first time it errored, 2nd time it worked.
