#1 Post by Philipe Pimentel »

Hi,

my webcam is not being detected by kernel. When i use a shell like lspci or lsusb doesn't detect the model and ID from the webcam. There is any possibility to do linux kernel can "see" this integrated webcam from Dell notebook?

Have you tried installing Cheese to see what happens?

I have installed Cheese and Skype. Both tells me the "device is not found". The strange is that mic and webcam is integrated, however just the mic works.

I'm using this kernel: Linux version 4.12.0-1-amd64 (debian-kernel@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 6.4.0 20170805 (Debian 6.4.0-3) ) #1 SMP Debian 4.12.6-1 (2017-08-12)

How kernel don't identify this webcam? If i run Windows the webcam works fine.
