Trying to install Unity
Trying to install Unity
Hi
I am trying to install Unity (game engine) on Debian Buster through gdebi, and it says "npm" is required,
installed "nodejs" but it still won't go through.
Any ideas what else i could do?

Tried the link posted by by HuangLao:
and see this:
https://packages.debian.org/sid/npm
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/npm
there must be plans, still in development.
and see this:
Or for Debian Sid, (Still in Developement)Exact hits
Package npm
jessie (oldstable) (web): package manager for Node.js
https://packages.debian.org/sid/npm
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/npm
However, as HuangLao all ready stated:Package: npm (1.4.21+ds-2)
package manager for Node.js
Node.js is an event-based server-side javascript engine.
npm is the package manager for the Node JavaScript platform. It puts modules in place so that node can find them, and manages dependency conflicts intelligently.
It is extremely configurable to support a wide variety of use cases. Most commonly, it is used to publish, discover, install, and develop node programs.
There is nothing shown for Debian Buster , I don't think it has been released yet, maybe that has something to do with it, but since it is in "SID", looks likeby HuangLao » 2017-11-02 12:35

If you look at tracker, it shows as blocked, hasn't migrated.

Re: Trying to install Unity
But it is available, most people with servers are still using Debian Jessie
or even older Debian versions for servers.
Debian testing and SID are not at all intended for use as a production server.
Also, I can't see why this would be needed on a server any way.
