Login Issue!

#1 Post by Aris Boch »

Hi Guys

I am having a login issue with Debian stretch. I recently updated the system and now after resuming from suspend I no longer need to login.

It appears that automatic login is enabled but that is not the case. I have tried enabling and disabling automatic login but no success.

Everything else seems to work fine.

My current kernel version is: 4.9.0-4-amd64.

I hope you can help me to resolve this issue as I would prefer to login after suspending my system.

technically you don't login after suspend, but need to unlock your session.
the locker is usually executed right before the system goes to sleep.
just to give you an idea where to search.

I have not came up with a solution yet! Anybody else encountered this problem?

what desktop environment are you using? what update did you do? have you look at dmesg/journalctl/syslog around (before and after) resume?

Im using Gnome3. It was just a general update using apt update && apt upgrade. I may have looked at dmesg at the time but I cant remember now. I didnt check the journal etc.
