Cannot connect to internet

#1 Post by Kiamey »

I recently installed debian by CD. I am new to linux. I cannot connect to internet. iwconfig brings "no wireless extensions". I don't have access to internet by this device. So I need to add everything by external usb devices. I searched a lot butcould not find the solution.

after instaling firmware package either unplug and reinsert the device,
or modprobe -r then modprobe the driver,
or reboot to let it find the firmware.

confirm it.

Code: Select all

# dmesg | grep -i firmware

Have you tried a "hardwire" connection? Run a cat5 cable from the router to the computer, There is also a "firmware" version of Debian that solved my wireless problems. It is at: https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unof ... 4/iso-dvd/
