Thanks for this, but I can't found the driver -> H830_LinuxDrv_x*_V1.0.28-beta_OEM.tar.gz there and all over the Google too. :/

Re: AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid Volar HD
I did some searching with little results. I suggest trying one of the later versions of a live distro such as ubuntu or others and boot the live system, see if the device is detected and supported. If so, you could then grab the drivers/firmware from that live system. Perhaps even try a live HTPC system.

Hi,
I upgraded to Stretch with clean install but can't use any TV-app with my tuner yet.
~$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 07ca:c830 AVerMedia Technologies, Inc.

Thanks for this, but I already knew this before, but there isn't any driver for Linux there: AVerTV Hybrid Volar HD H830.

Re: AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid Volar HD
Is a properly stupid place to look for kernel sources, I don't know of any distro that puts them there. As usual for proprietary software.phoenix_art wrote:/lib/modules/4.9.0-4-amd64/source
You could either link your kernel headers/source there, something like: ln -s /usr/src/linux-headers-$(uname -r) /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/source, or fix the makefile for that driver to look in a sane location.
The latter is preferred if you plan on recompiling this for kernel updates without hassle... Though it's a third party driver, so there will always be some screwup to deal with.
Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. Four times is Official GNOME Policy.
