Debian and vista dual boot

Right now I am using Debian. I still have the vista that came with the machine set up on a partition but I don't use it any more. What I'm wondering is:

If I happen to boot up the vista partition, is vista capable of looking at the other partitions on the disc and seeing that I use Debian? Will it then report this information back to MS? Or am I being paranoid?

Do you mean you want to access your Debian disk through Vista or are you afraid that there is some information sent to Microsoft about you using Debian?

If it's the first one, then look here: http://www.fs-driver.org/
However, to get it to work in Vista, you need to press F8 before Vista starts to boot; You will get a list of choices, from it you should choose "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement"

If it's the second one, then don't be afraid, Billy boy has already knewn that I watch porn with my Vista partition, so I don't think it's that bad if he gets to know you are using Debian...

No I don't care about accessing the Debian partition from windows. I have no reason to do that.

I was just wondering if I would be being spied upon if I booted up windows after installing Debian on the same machine.

I don't think Billy boy will spy your PC activities.. if I am wrong, someone please correct me.

And what if he does find out you're using Linux on the same machine as ME2. You think he's gonna come knocking on your door?

From what I know, Vista does spy on you, but not in the way that you seem worried about. The Windows Genuine Something-or-other program checks to see that there is no pirated Windows software on your Vista partition. But I don't think that there is any issue with a Debian partition. I think you can sleep soundly.

No, unless you install the driver which I mentioned in my first post.

And the Windows Genuine Advantage checks if you have a pirated copy of Windows, it doesn't check if you have pirated Windows software, because I do admit that I have some pirated Windows software on my Vista partition, it is still Genuine according to the WGA Tool.
