Hello,
I have installed chromium, but unable to play videos at 1440p+ resolution at 60fps on youtube. There are no problems as these with 'Firefox ESR' browser which comes preinstalled. Going to youtube.com/html5 on chromium shows there is a codec issue?
Screenshot below showing there is something with MSE & WebM VP9:
System: Intel 6260u, Stretch 9.4, Chromium 66.
Scheduled Maintenance: We are aware of an issue with Google, AOL, and Yahoo services as email providers which are blocking new registrations. We are trying to fix the issue and we have several internal and external support tickets in process to resolve the issue. Please see: viewtopic.php?t=158230
Chromium codecs for HTML5 - MSE & WebM VP9
Re: Chromium codecs for HTML5 - MSE & WebM VP9
i have seen similar reports quite a lot recently.
what have YOU done to tackle the issue?
oversized screenshots do not replace actual research (and i mean debian research, not clicking youtube links).
also, wouldn't it be much more comfortable to download the videos first, then watch them on $MEDIA_PLAYER?

Go to the Chromium website. In the Linux download area there are examples of how to install various codecs
