For uptime, however, it is a desktop / development workstation with Etch installed upon it and is off when not being used to save on the power bill.

Really, an 11 year necro?
Anyway, for me it's hardly anything. Anything over 8 hours is rare and anything over 14 is exceptional on my Debian box. I don't think my desktop has ever been on for more than 24 hours.

I haven't posted in this thread since 2007, oh my, why did it come back to life... Speaking of uptime, this thread is winning.

Debian, boot and shutdown when used.
Slackware, I have a box that has run for several years and only reboot for kernel upgrades.
PS: OMG I can't believe I fell for a necropost....

Re: How long do you leave your system running?
I almost always suspend to RAM. Usually only reboot after kernel upgrades.

Re: How long do you leave your system running?
One of my laptops has 187 days of uptime, the other only has 11 since I had to shut it down to install a bluetooth module. My desktop was around 300 days before I moved a couple weeks ago.... Rebooting is a waste of time
