Thunderbird & Firefox

Postby LTL » 2018-06-06 01:35

Hello,
Every-time when I click the hyper-link in Thunderbird email, it changes the web default browser from Firefox to Thunderbird. Please see the attached file, so you can understand what I am trying to say in here. I don't know why Thunderbird is listed in Preferred Web Browser application, it should only be appeared as Preferred Mail application type. I am using Debian 8. Thank you very much for your helps in advance.

Hi Debiman,
Sorry, the attachment was rejected last time. I hope I have a better luck this time.

P.S.: Still unable to attach a file. Receives an error message: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." Do you know how to work around this problem? Thanks again.

Post to http://paste.debian.net/ and link here. Or if it's an image you need to upload to an image sharing site and link here.

I don't think you can post images there.

Did you look at that link I posted?
Set in Thunderbird preferences Attachments http and https to open in Firefox.

It does open in Firefox. The problem is the web preferred application was changed to Thunderbird each time the link was clicked. Did you see the attached image you had requested? Why Thunderbird is listed as one of preferable web when it's actually a mail application? Thank you for your time and effort in helping me.

I looked at your image but I have no idea what it is. I guess it is Gnome global preferences? I don't use Gnome.
It looks nothing like the Thunderbird Preferences I have here.

No, it's not GNOME. I don't know what to say when it's there, and you said you did not see it. Thank you very much for your time and effort anyway.

If your global preferences keeps changing back after setting Thunderbird preferences, it may take a bit more research. Telling us what desktop environment that is will help. I don't recognise it which is why I asked if it is Gnome which I never use.
And apologies, I think I misunderstood the problem initially.

Sorry, it's a Cinnamon Desktop for Debian 8.10 (Jessie). The image is Cinnamon preference application. The problem is not occurred if I select Chrome browser as a default browser. Again, thank you very much for your time and effort.
