Hello,

Can anyone give me some pointers on where to look to find whats making these entries in my logs please?

What logs do I need to post?

GTK events are confusing...I think this is about your use gtk theme. What kind of gtk theme do you use? Try using a standard theme. It should help.

No themes or widgets installed.
I still have default desktop pic in use lol.

Any other ideas?

which log?
what's "linuxworkbench"?
and yes, they're just warnings. but definitely too many. is there an actual problem that prompted you to look at the logs? are they growing too large?

Linuxworkbench is name of PC,

That log is the Daemon log, it's in the post heading ;)

The PC is constantly writing to the hard drive.
I thought maybe this was causing the issue.
Plus it'll fill my partition, eventually, that holds logs :(

Here is a copy of lines out of /var/log/daemon.log /var/log/kern.log /var/log/messages /var/log/syslog /var/log/Xorg.0.log that contain reference to gtk.

ok, thanks for not telling me, but i found /var/log/daemon.log now.
it's 34k in size and apparently gets gzipped daily.

about yours:
the applications that spam the log are clearly marked.
that's where you need to search.

about gnome-terminal:
i don't know how it works, but why would it even want to write to a system log?
are you logging into a graphical session as root???
