Upgrade fails in Buster

I get the following message when I try to upgrade my new install of Buster: Can you help please?

1) Did you run update first?

2) What does your sources list and sources,list.d say?

Yes, I ran update first.

Do you login as root with the command "su -" instead of the simple "su"?

Testing is not a production-ready OS. You should use it only if you are an advanced Debian user, or have desire to test the next release.

Probably irrelevant but worth mentioning there was a recent appstream bug preventing my updating/upgrading Buster.
Web searching led to this blog http://www.suramya.com/blog/2018/08/fix ... et-update/
that fixed the issue.
