Edit 3: Hi there,
i am new to debian. If I am right I should do something with a "web fronted".

Re: "wrong" IP and can't install my package
Your instructor has given you the task and he/she want's you to figure it out. That's part of the learning process.apprentice18 wrote:Hi, my instructor gave me some tasks for an UBIQ.

Re: "wrong" IP and can't install my package
We did it once together but i am still very new to debian and my IP this time doesn't beginn with 192.168.x.x what makes me sceptical. And i know it's part of the learning process but i need more "help" / introduction into the subject before being able to do all alone.

PuTTY doesn't reach my vm Debian
I want to be able to login from a different computer on my vm UBIQ Debian i removed the '#' from PermitRootLogin and set 'yes' behind it and saved /etc/ssh/sshd_config which i edited with nano, i already did it once that it worked but it was with help and get the task to do it again for training purpose but i can not repeat it unfortunately. I get 'Network error: Connection timed out' when i want to connect putty with my debian server. I am very new and have no clue what i did wrong or what i missed to do that i will work. And i am not quite sure that my IP address is 'correct' because i thought it has to beginn with 192.168.. but it's 85.16.. or 205.100.. depending on how i ask for it. Any help is welcome.

Please don't start multiple threads or the same issue.
Describe, in detail, your setup and what you are trying to do, and from where to where.
Explain this.apprentice18 wrote:i thought it has to beginn with 192.168.. but it's 85.16.. or 205.100.. depending on how i ask for it.

what is "an UBIQ" (i had a quick look but didn't really understand anything)?
why did op edit their first post? significantly, it seems.
does it make any sense?
