Buster installation - network problems

#1 Post by denfyren »

I'm trying to install buster on a Dell Optiplex 160.

When trying to identify the NIC, I get this message:

Some of your hardware needs non-free firmware file to operate. The firmware can be loaded from removable media, succh as a USB stick or floppy.
The missing firmware file are b43/ucode15.fw b43/ucode15.fw b43-open/ucode15.fw b43-open/ucode15.fw

(Don't know why each file is listed twice.)

My question: Where to I find these files? When I tried a buster network installation, I got the same message. I tried putting all the non-free .deb packages I could find on the installation media, but it didn't help. I seem to be unable to locate the files, and I have a supicion that if I actually find them it won't help. Just based on prior debian experience :-)

Any help is appreciated.
