[SOLVED] Seaker doens't work again

#1 Post by shogun1234 »

Previously I have this problem. And it looks like solved, but after recently upgrade, it looks like broken again. Perhaps because debian repos now is no longer buster. It's bullseye/sid

The previous thread is at http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=142036

I check /var/log/message and dmesg, but do not find error that's related. Any other places or tools can I use to check for this purpose?

Thanks

You could try "following" the systemd journal and then reproduce the failure and see if any new messages appear:

Code: Select all

journalctl --follow
deadbang

Thank you. After checking systemd log, only following message are displayed. The only message that might be related is Failed to register as a handsfree audio agent with ofono: ... , but that looks like bluetooth related.

Code: Select all

Try

Code: Select all

# apt install ofono
Reference: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1747878

Also:
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

It seems to be solved though I still have no confidence, but at least I can get skype call testing working.

The command that fixed my problem (I am not sure if this would be helpful to others or not) is

Code: Select all

alsactl init
Unfortunately I do not know why. The command that works is found through the following link.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/question ... 175596546/

Just to note that previously I tested with speaker-test e.g. speaker-test -t wav -c 6. Even though there were voices producing front left, front right, and so on, but the speaker still failed when doing real conference call.
