Please help me, i pressed alt + f4 i think and now i'm in tty4, i just want to get back to my desktop. OS is Debian 10 with the GNOME desktop.
Solution: Ctrl + Alt + F1 got be back to the desktop.

The default key combination to switch between desktop and consoles is Ctrl+Alt+ F1 to F7.

And to switch back from any tty to your graphical desktop, switch to tty7 (ctrl+alt+F7) because that's where it resides.
Re: How do you just exit tty?
Not necessarily. It's F2 for me. F7 is blank, not even a console login. And F1 gives a lock screen.Bloom wrote:And to switch back from any tty to your graphical desktop, switch to tty7 (ctrl+alt+F7) because that's where it resides.

You're welcome.
And a username named after your first post? I guess it can be difficult to know what to choose.
